Byron Alexander Campbell is an apocryphal, anachronistic anomaly living a life of approximate anonymity in suspiciously sunny Canyon Country, California. In the hours between waking and sleeping, he explores dream-space, constructions of horror and the irreal, and notions of liminality and interactivity.
While pursuing his MFA in Writing from the California Institute of the Arts, Byron served on the editorial staff of the renowned literary magazine Black Clock. His fiction can be found in Issue 6 of [out of nothing], Issue 8 of Polluto: The Anti-Pop Culture Journal, Issue 7 of the Innsmouth Free Press, Trop, Wordbusker, and various anthologies, including Writings on the Wall by Seven Archons Press, A Commonplace Book of the Weird: The Untold Stories of H.P. Lovecraft, Baconology: Sizzling Strips of Horror, and the art book/DVD combo Strange Attractors: NonHumanoid Extraterrestrial Sexualities. Byron is also the author of two interactive novellas: the Lovecraftian Christmas kitty comedy A Very Hairy Fish-Mess, and the surreal dark mystery Room 206, both of which can be downloaded for free from the Interactive Fiction Archive. He had no idea what he was doing.
Byron is currently a contributing editor for Entropy, where he explores the intersections of games and narrative with series including Session Report, Ludic Writing, and Silent Hill: Biography of a Place.
